A new semester begins. We had a little over a week and a half off between semesters which was a much needed break. I went home to Iowa where I happily did nothing.
The summer semester is primarily made of classes that are continuations of the fall classes. Systemic Path covers the second half of the Robbins textbook. It has a format that I really like where you watch the lectures on your own time then do review during class times. You'll also notice more time spent in the gross room. I am determined to redeem myself from my mistakes last semester but my rotation isn't until June so stay tuned.
With spring in full bloom and summer on the way I took the opportunity to check out some of the popular spots in Monongahela National Forest. Both Lindy Point and Blackwater Falls are less than two hours from campus and don't require much effort to get to in terms of hiking. If you do enjoy hiking there are miles and miles of trails. They were pretty muddy when I wen't out there so wear good shoes. I highly recommend checking out both these scenic areas if you are not a native to West Virginia.

Not sure where this was but it was in that forest somewhere and I liked the vibe

Lillian's West Virginia Weather Report: Spring Edition
It was a pretty classic Spring. Lots of rain, temperatures all over the place, people's allergies starting to act up, not really anything special. It felt exactly like Spring in the Midwest. This is ideal weather for me. It's not humid yet and rarely goes above 78 degrees. It's sure to be a crowd pleaser regardless of what climate you're from.
